Match 40: UP Warriors Vs. Dabangg Delhi Casey
UP Warriors have made a slow start to their campaign. They have won just one of their six games, which is currently 10M On the points table. Despite the team’s extraordinary start to the season, coach Jasveer Singh will not be too worried. UP Warriors got off to a bad start in Season 6 and Season 7 but reached the playoffs in both campaigns. If history is to move forward, expect UP Warriors to get stronger with the season. But the team, especially Raider Pardeep Narwal, needs to be confident, and a win against the formidable Dabangg Delhi Casey could give a jumpstart to their campaign needs.
Dabangg Delhi Casey is the only unbeaten team in Vivo PKL this season. They have won four of their last six matches and tied two. Raider Naveen Kumar is on the move for a record-breaking campaign. The ruling MVP has taken just six games to cross 100 points and has scored more than 50% of his team’s total points this season. Aside from Naveen’s exploits, Delhi has a chink in his armor that could be a cause for concern. His defense has been fragile at times, and he wants the best nights of his career from Naveen to win two games. Delhi could be the toughest team to beat this season if its defensive unit is more compact and consistent.
UP Warriors Vs. Dabangg Delhi opposite KC
UP Warriors have played five matches against Dabangg Delhi Casey and won four, losing just one.
Match 41: U Mumbai v. Telugu Titans
U Mumbai will be satisfied with their season so far but will be the first to admit that they can perform better. They are fifth in the points table with two wins, three ties and one defeat. They can reach the third position with a win, however Gujarat Giants beat Patna Pirates by a good margin. With the exception of their season-opener, U Mumbai still have a game left where both their offense and defense have clicked together. Rookie head coach Rajguru Subramaniam’s youth team has been good so far, but if they want to fight for the Vivo PKL title with the best teams in the league, they will need to take their game to one or two levels.
The Telugu Titans are now the only team without a win this season, but they could have easily won multiple. They have lost three games by one point, two more games and tied the other two games they have played this season. It’s been a gut-wrenching season, but not a single one. Ankit Beniwal and Rajneesh’s meteor shower is like watching Siddharth Desai’s absence. If the duo can continue their recent form when Desai returns to the Mets, the Titans could turn their fortunes around and quickly climb to the points table.
U Mumbai v. Telugu Titans face to face
Through 12 matches, U Mumba is leading 6-4 over the Telugu Titans in their head-to-head clash. Two matches between them have ended in a tie.
Match 42: Gujarat Giants Vs. Pirates of Patna
Gujarat Giants have won just one of their six matches and are currently ninth in the points table. Corners Ravinder Pahal and Girish Maruti Ernak and cover Parvesh Bhainswal and Sunil have their initial defensive unit Vivo PKL combined for 1,000 tackle points. But the Giants are currently averaging just 7.67 tackle points in Season 8, the lowest in the league. Gujarat’s defensive unit team needs to find their footing soon to start their tumultuous season.
Patna Pirates have enjoyed a sensational start in season 8. They have won four of their six matches so far, tied and lost one game, and are third in the points table with a game against league-leader Bengaluru Bulls. Their raiding trio of Sachin, Monu Goyat and Prashant Kumar Rai are not only perpetuating crime, but they have also weighed in on defense. The Pirates’ best approach to defense has led them to lead the league in every defensive stats. A star-studded trio and a formidable defense have made Patna one of the teams to beat this season and it will require an almost flawless performance from the team to sink the Pirates.
