The Tamil Thalaivas will lock the horns with the Gujarat Giants while the Bengaluru Bulls will take revenge against the Patna Pirates in their respective Pro Kabaddi League matches here on Thursday. Despite the recent setbacks, Thalaivaso has made a solid start to the season and will play against a Giants team that has yet to find their perfect balance. The second game of the night will see the first reverse match of the season as the Bengaluru Bulls take on the Patna Pirates. Their first meeting was dominated by Pirates, but Pawan Sehrawat and his bulls would be eager to set the score.
With skipper Surjit Singh and Sagar Prabhavit, Thalaivas’ defense has been in excellent form throughout the season. But with Manjit fading in the last two matches, Thalaivas need to find more energy for his attacks.
Ajinkya Pawar and Bhavani Rajput will need to take on more responsibilities, especially though. Prapanjan fails to recover from a shoulder injury.
Despite the absence of Ravinder Pahal due to a knee injury, the Giants’ star-studded defense seems to be finally coming to form. Parvesh Bhainswal, Sunil and Girish Ernak looked confident in their previous outings against U Mumbai and they will pick up their chances against the Tamil Riding Unit.
Ajay Kumar had a strong outing against Mumbai which may have persuaded coach Manpreet to give the all-rounder a bigger role against Thalaivas. Rakesh S. Once again, he will be the lead raider as Gujarat struggles to make it to the top half of the points table.
Patna’s success in the team’s first meeting of the season was entirely in their defense. Corner defenders Sunil and Mohammad Reza Shadloi put on a fine performance and stopped Pawan Sehrawat from scoring a single point in the second half.
But Patna has not been able to replicate the same form since that night which will give the Bulls a lot of confidence.
If the wind continues for more than 10 minutes on the mat, it will take the game away from the opponents. Therefore, Patna will have to continue its aggressive approach. Wind and Bulls should find a safer option and involve secondary raiders more.
In India, Chandran Ranjit and Deepak Narwal, the Bulls have enough raiding power to tear down Patna’s defensive structure. Sunil and Sajin C may be absent from the line-up due to injuries which will make Patna’s rights vulnerable to attack.
