Star weightlifter Mirabai Chanu shares picture from birthday celebration, flaunts biceps in saree

Indian weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu recently celebrated her birthday after returning from a memorable outing at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK, where she won the country’s first gold medal. As she turned 28 on August 8 this year, she shared pictures of the celebration with her family on her social media accounts. The Indian athlete, who wore a saree for her special day, has now shared another picture in the outfit, in which she can be seen flaunting her muscles.

Earlier, while sharing pictures of her birthday party with her family, she wrote, “Another year, another medal and birthday celebration with family.” The Padma Shri awardee also marked his special occasion by planting a tree. “Planting trees this year made my birthday special,” she wrote while sharing the pictures on social media.

At the Commonwealth Games 2022 which ran from July 28 to August 8 this year, the Tokyo Olympic silver-medallist bagged India’s first gold medal in the women’s 49 kg weightlifting category. He lifted a total of 201 kg in the snatch and clean and jerk categories. This was 29 kg more than the total of 172 kg lifted by second best Marie Hanitra Royalia Ranaivosoa of Mauritius.

In her second attempt, she lifted 88 kg to break her Commonwealth Games record and script a new personal best. In the clean and jerk, she pulled 109 kg with absolute ease in her first attempt. Mirabai improved her performance in the second attempt after successfully lifting 113 kg. She lifted 115 kg in her third attempt but could not complete the lift.</p> <p>After a great journey to CWG 2022, he is all set to prepare for the next World Championship.</p> <p> India finished the Sporting Championships in Birmingham with a total of 61 medals, including 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze, ahead of Australia, England and Canada.</p> <p>Read onFresh news And breaking news here
