Zimbabwe were bowled out for 70 in 24.4 overs as the Sri Lankan bowlers defended a total of 254-9 in Kandy.

Despite Zimbabwe’s disciplined bowling efforts, opening batsman Pathum Nisanka top-scored with 55 and Charith Asalanka added 52 to boost Sri Lanka’s score.
But leg-spinner Wanderers won the match with career-best figures as Sri Lanka scored crucial Super League points in their bid for a direct entry into the 2023 World Cup.
The Sri Lankan bowlers fired all their guns to defend the lowest total of the series as the hosts chased down 297 runs in the opening match which fell 22 runs short of their 303-run target in the second game.
In the third over of the chase, Chamira hit a continuous ball to send Regis Chakabwa one and skipper Craig Erwin back to zero.
Sean Williams avoided a hat-trick but was soon bowled for six by off-spinner Mahesh Thikshana.
Venderse stumped Takudzwanash Kaitano with wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis and immediately took bail.
Ramesh, who scored a valuable 26 runs with the bat, counted it after taking two wickets in place of Nuwan Pradeep and the opposition fell like a batting card.
Earlier, Nisanka gave Sri Lanka a good start as he scored 80 runs with opening partner Kusal Mendis.
Zimbabwe hit back with the wicket and hurt the hosts which became Tendai Chatara’s 100th ODI scalp despite Aslanka’s 56-ball innings.
Chatara has become Zimbabwe’s fastest bowler to hit an ODI wicket century in 76 matches as he has surpassed the efforts of former captain and fast bowler Heath Streak in 81 matches.
Richard Nagarwa returned 2-46 in his nine overs.
Chamika Karunaratne and Ramesh, who scored 30 runs, added 48 runs for the seventh wicket to add to the total which proved to be a victory.
