SC hits East Bengal as AIFF rejects Antonio Perosevic’s appeal against 5-match ban

The AIFF has rejected the appeal of SC East Bengal player Antonio Perosevic against the five-match ban imposed on him for “violent behavior” towards the match official during the Indian Super League game.

The AIFF Appeals Committee discussed the matter on January 10 and rejected Parosevic’s application outright. The AIFF body confirmed that it would abide by the decision of the disciplinary committee. Parosevic was also ordered to pay an additional R 60,000 for the costs and costs of the appeal, “the AIFF said in a statement.

Parosevic was charged with aggravated assault on a match official during his game against Northeast United FC last month. He was earlier also fined Rs 1 lakh.

The player appealed to the AIFF on January 8 to reduce the fine. Parosevic stated in his appeal that he had “no intention of contacting the referee or engaging in any act of violence”.
