Indian swimmer Sajan Prakash failed to reach the semifinals by finishing 25th in the FINA Men’s 200m Butterfly event. The world Championship in Budapest, Hungary.
The 28-year-old finished eighth in his heat with a time of 1: 58.67 hours. The top five swimmers advanced to the semifinals from its heat.
The two-time Olympian, recovering from a shoulder injury, was ranked 25th overall.
His personal best in the event is 1: 56.48, which he set to qualify for last year’s Tokyo Olympics.
In the men’s 800m freestyle event, Delhi swimmer Kushagra Rawat finished 23rd.
The 22-year-old closed the clock at 8: 15.96 and finished fifth in its heat, failing to advance to the finals.
Kushagra had a personal best of 8: 08.32 in the 800m freestyle event during the Senior National Aquatic Championships last year.
The top eight swimmers in the event advance to the finals.
