Bengaluru: Senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin He did not travel to the United Kingdom with his teammates for the one-time ‘Fifth Test’ after a positive test. COVID-19a BCCI Sources told PTI on Monday.
Ashwin is currently on quarantine and will join the team only after fulfilling all the protocol requirements.
The Indian team left for the UK on June 16.
A BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity that “Ashwin did not travel to the UK with the team as he tested positive for Covid 19 before departure. But we hope he will recover in time before the Test match starts on July 1. ” Of Anonymous.

The rest of the team is already in Leicester and has started training under the supervision of bowling coach Paras Mhambre and batting coach Vikram Rathore.
Rahul Dravid, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer have reached London after completing their T20 assignment against South Africa and will leave for Leicester on Tuesday.
The team headed by VVS Laxman to Ireland will leave for Dublin on June 23 or 24 as the team members have been given three days rest.
