PSG denies Christoph Galtier’s reports

Paris Saint-Germain on Monday denied reports that Nice coach Christophe Galtier would be appointed as the new coach of the Parisian club.

The newspaper L’Equipe and the radio station FranceInfo claimed that the Frenchman had agreed to replace Mauricio Pochettino in the Park de Princes.

A source close to the club later told AFP that despite the reports, “numerous discussions are going on”.

Argentine Pochettino, who was appointed in January last year and led the club to the recently concluded Ligue 1 title, has 12 months left on his contract.

French newspapers have reported that Pochettino and the club have reached an agreement that would leave Argentina the French capital.

Galtier’s current employers were unavailable for comment.

If he goes to Paris, Galtier will reunite with PSG’s recently appointed football adviser, Luis Campos.

Earlier this month, the French press linked former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane to the post, with PSG’s Qatari owners desperate to win the Champions League.
