Panasonic Has launched its Rugged tablet Panasonic Toughbook S1 In India. The tablet was launched in the US in May this year for 2499. Prices in India start at Rs 98,000. This tablet is designed for people who work in transportation, logistics and other such fields. The device runs Android 10 with Android Enterprise.
Panasonic Toughbook S1: Design and Display
The Panasonic Toughbook S1 has a 7-inch WXGA IPS LCD display with 800 x 1200 pixel resolution. Touchscreen displays can also be used with passive pens and gloves. It has a rugged design and measures 194mm x 131mm x 22.9mm without additional accessories. It supports an integrated barcode reader. Users also get the option to equip the device with two batteries – a standard 3,200mAh and an extended 5,580mAh battery. The tablet weighs 434 grams with a standard battery and 514 grams with an extended battery. The company claims that the device with both batteries can be used for up to 14 hours.
The tablet is water and dust resistant and the company claims that it can be operated at temperatures as low as -20 C.
Panasonic Toughbook S1: Processor and camera
Under the hood, the Panasonic Toughbook S1 is mated to an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. When it comes to the camera, the tablet has a 13-megapixel camera on the back. For selfies and video calls, the device has a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
In terms of connectivity, the Toughbook S1 tablet comes with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, USB Type-C port microSD / SDXC card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack and more. As mentioned earlier, the device runs on Android 10 with Android Enterprise.
