The Omicron variant of Covid-19 has mild symptoms and that is why its infection is difficult to diagnose, said Professor Sunit Kumar Singh, Head of the Department of Molecular Biology Unit, Benaras Hindu University and a well-known virologist. He further said that this is one of the main reasons why children have become super spreaders, which can infect people they come in contact with.
Earlier, experts claimed that children are less likely to be exposed to the virus, but now they are at risk of becoming super-spreaders of the disease.
Speaking further to News18, Professor Suneet Kumar Singh said that asymptomatic patients are this new type of super spreader of Covid-19. Even if someone coughs or sneezes, they are definitely infected. ”
Dr. Sunit Kumar believes that viruses have many mutations because they are symptomatic and asymptomatic. Children who do not show mild or severe fever are also infected and still have the virus inside them.
“Kids have become super spreaders and we are unable to identify them because they do not have any special features. All that can be done is for parents to protect their children. Dr. Suneet Kumar said.
It is therefore highly recommended for parents to focus on the health of their children. Parents should stop sending their children to public places and make sure they wear masks whenever they go out.
