Italian Ania Bastianini set a new record on Gracini Ducati on Friday, breaking the Bugatti circuit mark set by Frenchman Zarco in 2018.

Zarco broke the day’s old record by clocking more than 0.6 seconds in 1 minute 30.537 as the top nine riders on Saturday improved Bastiani’s Friday time.

Zarco Factory was 0.031 faster than Francesco Bugnia at Ducati and 0.145 behind Yamaha was Championship Leader Fabio Quartararo.

While Zarco, who rides for the Ducati satellite team Pramac, is looking for his first win at the MotoGP level, Quartararo is chasing his first win at his home Grand Prix.

Spanish Multiple World Champion Marc Marquez was the fourth most dangerous on his Honda.

Last year’s Le Mans winner, Australian Jack Miller, was fifth on another factory Ducati.

Bastiani’s third practice session was only the 16th fastest time due to mechanical problems.

Their Friday time was still good enough to stay in the top 10 of the combined classification, good enough to advance straight into the second and final qualifying session in the afternoon.

Q2 begins at 1210 GMT with riders outside the top 10 battling for two positions in Q1 that follow simultaneously and determine the first four rows of the grid.
