Adani Group enters the industrial 5G segment

Ahmedabad: Adani Data Networks Limited (ADNL), the digital connectivity solutions arm Adani Groupannounced in its regulatory filing on Tuesday that it has acquired rights to use 400 MHz of spectrum in the 26 GHz mm wave band.
ADNL, also a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, secured the spectrum for a period of 20 years in the first 5G spectrum auction conducted by the Department of Telecommunications of the Central Government.
According to the company, the newly acquired 5G spectrum is expected to help Adani Group create a unified digital platform to accelerate the pace and scale of digitization of its core infrastructure, primary industry and business to consumer (B2C) business portfolios.
“The group’s entry into the industrial 5G space will allow our portfolio companies to offer a set of new add-on services that capitalize on all the other digital segments we are building.
Our portfolio is a highly distributed asset-intensive investment that is being revolutionized by sensing and rapidly becoming IoT enabled. Therefore, we believe that the next data surge will be created more by machines than by people as all devices are interconnected,” said the group chairman. Gautam Adani.
The group’s comprehensive strategy to digitally integrate its current and future businesses includes linking its data centers through a network of submarine and terrestrial cables, building the world’s largest industrial operations cloud, developing super applications to provide a suite of services to its customer base. 400 million, and setting up an AI center of excellence.
“Data will need to be streamed, stored, processed and analyzed by other machines in real time and this capability will change every single industry. It will help create a set of services that the market today cannot fully imagine. This volume will be exponentially higher and generated at the edge, especially in a country like India, where Tier-II and III cities are witnessing the fastest overall growth,” Adani further added.
