7.5% economic growth expected this year: PM Modi


New Delhi: The Indian economy is expected to grow by 7.5 per cent this year, the Prime Minister said Narendra Modi Said Wednesday.
To a virtual address BRICS Business ForumModi also said that the value of Indian digital economy will reach $ 1 trillion by 2025.
Highlighting the strength of the Indian economy, he said there was an opportunity to invest $ 1.5 trillion under the country’s national infrastructure pipeline.
“We expect 7.5 per cent growth this year which will make us the fastest growing major economy,” Modi said in his address.
“New India” is undergoing transformative changes in every sector, he said, adding that the main pillar of the country’s economic recovery is the development of technology leadership.
“We support innovation in every area,” the prime minister said.
The BRICS Business Forum was held a day before the Virtual Summit of the Group of Five.
BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) brings together the five largest developing countries in the world, representing 41% of the global population, 24% of global GDP and 16% of global trade. .
